MEYER DRILLING
Drilling the Prairie Provinces since 1986
|
We're located at Buffalo, AB where it's notoriously difficult to find good water at reasonable depths. Every drop of drinking water had to be hauled into our cistern since the 1940's. For other needs such as toilets, showering, washing clothes and livestock waterers, we depended solely on an old well close to the house and an iron filter. This well suddenly quit near the end of October in the dead of winter placing us in a disastrous situation
Our first call was to another contractor who wasn't able to come but recommended Meyer Drilling. Kerry Meyer and crew started drilling hole #1 around November 1st. Despite miserable wind & icy cold conditions, they worked well into the night each day and back early the next morning. Day by day, Kerry kept us hopeful but ultimately after a couple of weeks, the hole had to be abandoned at nearly 500 feet.
At this point, many companies may have been discouraged enough to move on to the next waiting client. However because of Kerry's eternal optimistic personality, the rig was moved to a different location in our farmyard. Very quickly, indications were promising and by the fifth day we had a well probably capable of over 50 gallons per minute with no iron, no salt and no sand at 360 feet. Great drinking water right from the ground and it was under our feet all the time...it only had to be found!
